As a young girl growing up in a forest filled with furry friends, playful adventures, and relentless bullies, Violet struggles to make sense of the pain and loneliness she experiences. To protect herself, her imagination transforms the world around her into a magical realm of animal creatures and wonder. But with every hurtful encounter, a dark presence begins to grow—a giant shadow wolf that follows her through the years, feeding on her anxiety, fear, and self-doubt.

As childhood fades and adulthood arrives, the safety of Violet's enchanted world begins to melt away. Now an aspiring children's book writer, she channels her memories and imagination into stories filled with magic, hope, and happiness. Despite her creative gifts, Violet still struggles to speak her mind and stand up for herself. When the shadow wolf reappears in her adult life, she must confront the fears that have haunted her for so long.
